Car got broken into last night!!!

Last night around 2:30 my alarm went off. I ran out side, to turn it off, and see what's up. When I opened the garage I noticed my hood was wasn't closed all the way. I closed the hood (thinking I just left it crazed while I was working on it), and attempted to turn off the alarm. Finally after 5min, the alarm finally turned off. I tried to unlock the doors, however the alarm wouldn't respond. So I unlocked the door with my key. When I unlocked the door, I realized my battery was dead. My lights wouldn't turn on, or my alarm wouldn't turn on. So I just figured my battery died due to the stereo, and I would just jump start it in the morning. I looked in side and saw one of my air fresheners had fallen. So I figured when it fell it set off the motion sensor, and tripped the alarm, and killed the battery. So I locked the doors, and closed up the car and went back to sleep. When I came out side the next morning I noticed my rear seats were down. I looked in side and saw my whole stereo system was gone!!!!!!! I popped the hood, to check the engine. It was fine!!! The ground wire was cut, and the power wire was too. I called the cops, and checked for other missing items. I looked in the mouth of the car, and noticed the black plastic bars were cut. When the cops came, they told me that the thief's cut the black bars in the mouth, to get in. They stripped the plastic coating off of the hood release wire, and pulled it to pop the hood. They cut the power and ground, hopping that it would turn off the alarm, but it didn't. (It didn't because of my back up system) So the thief's left planning to come back later to finish off the job. That's when I came out and saw the hood cracked, and the alarm going off. Later on that night after I went to sleep, they came back to finish. OK this is the weird part! Somehow they got inside! No broken windows, no sign of breaking in. (Didn't even have slim Jim marks!) The cops think he has some type of key to get in. (My VIN number by the way is always covered!) Anyway, they took my CD player, both amps, both capacitors, my 1- 12" sub and box, my RAZO shift knob!!!, my owners Manuel with registration, and insurance info, my type R map light, and CD's (around 85)!!!! Anyway, the so far quote to replace everything and fix it, is around $4000.!!! Thanks god my TV wasn't inside, or my playstation, and VCR!!! One thing that was odd was that they didn't take my VAFC (It was even unhooked just hanging their!!!! Anyway, this sucks! The cops took a report, and also finger printed my whole car! Tons of prints! (Hoping that they aren't all mine!) I want to get a new stereo, yet I fear they will come back and steal it again. How did they get in?????

how did you get cops to do fingerprints and take a report? are you rich? famous? a cop?

sorry your stuff got stolen anyway. I know what thats like. always gotta take the stereo stuff. if it wasn't so overpriced, people wouldn't steal that shit so much.

Well, I called the cops, and they told me to do a report online. I said hell no, come down here! A cop came down. He looked at the scene, and said it was bad enough to do prints. (Also the main reason they did prints was, four years ago our hose got broken into, and the thiefs took over $3000. We later found out that the people who broke into our house robbed over 40 other places. If they would have done prints, they would have been cought sooner. So this time, they are making sure they dont screw up!

Your story reminds me of another I saw posted once. In that, the guy came out twice during the night because his alarm mysteriously went off. He never saw anything suspicious enough to do anything, and just figured the alarm had somehow become faulty. He didn't actually do a close inspection of the car, only from the distance of a window.

In the morning, he came out to find his car on blocks -- (of course most people have wheel locks now -- if they have semi-decent wheels)
